Red pandas are small, fluffy tree-dwellers from the Himalayan forests, and they're one of the few animals in Planet Zoo 2 that can safely climb above guests. That makes them perfect for overhead bridges and treetop zoos.

Red panda bridges

The big feature: link climbable platforms together over a guest path to make a red panda bridge. Guests walk underneath and look up to see the pandas crossing overhead. It's one of the most charming things you can build.

How I build it:

  1. Place climbable platforms on each side of the path inside the habitat.
  2. Link them with a climbable overpass across the path.
  3. Make sure the whole route is inside the habitat boundary.
  4. Check the traversable heat map so the pandas can actually reach it.

The habitat

  • Climbable platforms linked together.
  • Sleeping platforms up high. Add red tiled roofs for a nice splash of colour.
  • A cool mountain-forest setting: pine trees, rhododendron bushes and ferns.
  • Drinking water.

Treetop zoo

Red pandas are a highlight of a suspended treetop zoo:

  • Elevated angular wooden paths that go up and down.
  • Circular platforms around big trees.
  • Gazebos and firefly effects for atmosphere.

Snow leopards, Sumatran tigers and mixed European species all fit nearby.

Group and care

  • Red pandas are mostly solitary or live in pairs.
  • They prefer cool temperatures. On a warm map, add a habitat cooler.
  • Check the Zoopedia for their exact barrier and space needs.

Tips

  • Red pandas don't need much ground space. Most of their habitat is vertical.
  • Red pandas and giant pandas aren't available in every Franchise map. If you can't find them, check the map's species list.
